Live On Stage!
For the first time in over 10 years I have enough gigs to list them in one post! Still ain’t many, but if you’re in NYC, I’ll be at the drum throne or on the turntables in these places:
11.26 @ Parkside Lounge NYC on drums w/ Lulu Lewis – 11PM
12.10 @ Robert Bar, B’klyn throwing down funk + soul 45s for my monthly “Soul Vibrations!” DJ gig – 10PM
12/15 @ Troost, Bklyn on drums w/ Lulu Lewis – 10PM
12/29 @Bowery Electric on drums w/ Lulu Lewis – 10PM
If you’re around, come by.
My monthly DJ gig at Robert Bar. Normally the second Saturday of every month but I bat third this go round. 10PM-2AM. Free. Stop by, say hi and enjoy a non-stop barrage of funk and soul 45s.
I guess all the info you need is on the flyer. See you then, NYC. Or not. The show goes on with or without ya!
If there’s ever been a party where you didn’t have to inquire about the cover charge, this is it. My set will be funky as usual, but definitely for those with dancing shoes. From b-boy breaks and heavy funk to Motown and some funky disco, it’ll all be there. I play from 4-6.
NYC: I’m currently filling the drum chair for soul/disco/funk outfit, Benjamin, for their September residency at C’mon Everybody (325 Franklin Ave.) in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. We play every Tuesday for the month: the 6th; the 13th; the 20th and (possibly) the 27th. $10 at the door. 8PM-11PM. The clip above is from the first show on September 6th. If that’s your vibe, come on down!
Semi-regular DJ and drumming gigs I’ve been fortunate enough to play lately have made doing live music enjoyable again. It’s been 11 years since I could say that! My monthly DJ gig at Robert Bar (B’klyn) is called Soul Vibrations (a tribute to the legendary Kool and the Gang) and kicks off Saturday, September 10. 4 hours of really greasy and hard-groovin’ funk and soul 45s. Robert Bar is located at 104 Bond St. in Downtown Brooklyn. It’s free. Stop on by. Remaining dates for 2016 are:
- October 8
- November 19
- December 10
